April 8th, 2007 Joshua made a very brave and courageous decision. The blanket (or "mankey" as it was referred to) that Joshua had slept with since he was a month old was given up forever. After 5 years it was reduced to several strings that he just kept tying together. We left the decision up to him and after two weeks of thinking about it, he decided it was time. It was a very emotional time (not just for him but also for mom and dad to see him growing up) but after sitting with it for a while and saying "goodbye" he put it in the bag to never see it again. He walked away crying but we were so proud of him. A couple of times he's commented that he misses mankey but he's done very well and the Lego Aqua Raider set he got as a reward for giving it up has made it a little easier.
Joshua never wants to take a bath, but as soon as he gets in, he has a blast! This night he was getting creative with the bath paints. Fun, fun, fun!
The kids sure had fun hunting for Easter eggs! They waited at the door until we said, "GO!" Then, the race was on to find as many eggs as they could. Despite the sugar rush that followed, mom and dad had fun, too!
