Tender Treasure :: Pinkie

smiling pinkie

"Hello Emma Grace's mom!" That's how Pinkie greets me every time I see her! I know she knows my name because I was, "Jen" before she met Emma Grace. She has such a love for children that I think "Emma Grace's mom" just rolls off naturally. She always has a huge smile on her face and the sounds of laughter exuding from her mouth.

Pinkie is a regular volunteer for the feeding program in Kabokweni. Being an orphan herself, she understands what these kids go through. In 2003, at just 14 years of age, Pinkie lost her dad to HIV/AIDS. More recently, in 2007, her mother also lost the battle to AIDS. With no adult figure in the home, Pinkie had to take that responsibility to care for her and her younger sister.

Lebo and Pinkie

Although they don't have a regular income, they qualified for government housing and now own a small house in Kabokweni. Pinkie is so giving and loving with her resources that she now cares for others in her home. Lebo comes during the day and Pinkie showers her with the love and attention she so desperately needs. She truly has the love of Jesus flowing out of her to the children of Kabokweni. Please pray that God would continue to provide for Pinkie and her sister.
