Butterfly Hair Tie Party Favors

Of course, one of my favorite things about birthdays is the handmade items that give that little personal touch.  This year I filled a goodie bag with essential girlie things like lotion, lip balm, silly bands, and chocolate.  My homemade touch was butterfly hair ties!

I love how these sweet butterflies turned out, another great pattern from Susan B. Anderson.  They knit up so fast and are so versatile.  I chose to sew them onto a hair tie so the girls can have a ponytail with pizazz!

This is a perfect project to use up small amounts of leftover yarn.  I love the frilly yarn that I used for these.  I did trim the yarn down after I knit them.  I love how they turned out!
