lifefinder tour

winter ice

So last week was nothing short of fun and incredible.  I was reminded of my "word" for the year as I felt it was totally in line with the dreams God and I have had together.  The best way to talk about it is to break it down starting first with the LifeFinder tour put on by photographer, Jeremy Cowart.  Jeremy is a celebrity photographer with a great passion for creativity and making a difference in the world.

I furiously took notes on lighting equipment he recommended (off camera lighting is still a mystery to me).  I loved hearing the photographers who inspire him like Joey L., Jose Villa, and Lara Jade, to name a few.

Honestly, though, I was totally inspired by his love for Africa and his creativity.  I was inspired by the stories of taking risks and how they paid off.  I was inspired to be sure and do personal work, if nothing for the sheer joy of being creative.

There's so many photographers out there, so you have to find what sets you apart from the rest.  What creative ideas can you dream up that no one else has done?  Sometimes this is where I find myself stumped, but I still pursue and dream knowing that creativity is so vast and it hasn't all been done before.  After all, I serve a very creative God.

I wrote down some great quotes that I'll be tweeting in the next few weeks.  I also encourage you to check out Help Portrait, "a global movement of photographers using their time, gear, and expertise to give back to those in need."
