I always look forward to Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day that rolls around twice a year. It's such a great way to visit some crafty blogs as well as enter to win tons of handmade goodies. This year I'm so excited to give away something that I'm instituting into Christmas this year. I mentioned on Friday that I'm going totally reusable on the gift wrap this year. It makes me so happy to look under my tree and see packages wrapped in fabric!
I decided to make a few to give away, too! I have four different pieces. See the photos for an idea of the different sized packages this gift wrap will hold (packages not included)...a "tootsie roll" that's great for clothes, a gift card holder, a bag that's great for books or small toys, and a rectangle piece that's great for those bigger gifts.
Details
This giveaway is open internationally and ends Friday, December 16th at 7 pm CST when random number generator will choose one winner.
Entries
1st Entry Simply leave a comment! I would love to know if you're using reusable gift wrap.
2nd Entry Become a follower. If you already are, that's fine, too!
Please leave a SEPARATE comment for each entry and make sure I have a way to contact you should you win.
Comments are now closed. The winner is Autie!

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 275 Newer› Newest»I'm not using reusable gift wrap, but it's got me thinking about it for sure! There's no reason I couldn't do it. My sewing skills aren't great, but you don't need fancy skills for a bag!
I'm a follower!
I don't use reusable gift wrap but I use recycled materials for it!
Thanks for the giveaway :)
Not all of my packages/presents are wrapped with reusable gift wrap, but a lot are! I think it's a great way to save money and give the gifts an extra special touch :) Thanks for hosting!!
I love reusable gift wrap. I really love the fabrics that you have used!
I have just followed your blog.
I used to think it was "cheating" to use bags but now I just think I'm practical. The bags are getting so beautiful that it's easy to justify.

I really need to get into using re-usable wrap at christmas time! for baby gifts, I always use an inexpensive flannel receiving blanket to wrap, and since I have all girls, a little purse or tote makes a great replacement gift bag for all of those little birthday parties
I havent stated using this yet but always wanted to

I love reusable gift-wrap, although I don't *always* use it. Thanks!
What a great idea!
New follower!
I love the *idea* of reusable gift wrap, but I've never gotten DH to agree to it. He thinks ripping the paper is half the fun for the kids. We do recycle the wrapping paper, though and reuse paper gift bags whenever possible.
At this point I was not thinking about using reusable wrapping, but this post just gave me an idea. Thanks a lot! Ana
I love using reusable packaging!
not using it yet!!!
I'm a follower!! woohoo!!
I have used reusable wrap... but only to people I know it will matter too... also use comics, ads, and brown kraft paper to wrap....
I love reusable wrapping paper...I just need to find the time to make some. You have definitely inspired me to get crackin'!
You've got a follower!
I made a few fabric gift bags for 2010 and hoped to make more during the year. Love your designs!
new follower! :)
I do use reusable wrap, though often it's just an unfinished piece of fabric. I never seem to fine the time to make something nicer :) Yours are lovely, thanks so much for the chance!
I'm not using reusable wrap, but it is a great idea, and these are lovely!
I made a few gift bags last year, and loved it! I promised myself that I would make a little each year, but I just ran out of time this year!
I'm a new follower
Don't know if Blogger's in a bad mood, but it said I didn't have access to this page when I tried to comment (saying I wanted to do reusable bags, but hadn't gotten around to it this year). :( So, trying to comment through name/URL rather than google account...
I had plans to use only reusable gift wrap this year, but I don't think it's going to happen (sadly). Maybe next year. But I would LOVE to see a picture of your tree!
I do use reusuable wrapping. We had boxes that had printed designs on them and used them for years but they are getting worn out. I hate to part with them. I also first wrapped gifts in fabric but tape didn't stick and finally made some bags with ribbon to keep them closed. This is great for those really big or bulky items. Your bags look so festive and thanks for the chance to win.
I am a new follower.
What a great idea! I don't currently use reusable gift wrap but I think I'll have to start!
What a great idea!
Growing up we've always had this kind of thing...I'd love some of my own. Thanks for the chance :-)
I've never really used reusable wrapping paper but this is beautiful!
I decided last year not to use any wrapping paper at all, but my family kind of sucks so I think a bunch of my fabric bags got thrown away anyway. This year I realized I still have a bunch of paper from year;s past that needs to be used up before I start thinking about reusable so I am, but I did see a great tutorial on Craftster.org about "reusuable wrapping paper" where a lady just hemmed some fabric on all 4 sides with ribbon on 2 sides and used it like real wrapping paper and the ribbon worked for the tape and, well, ribbon. It was sweet! To wrap a DVD I think she used a FQ sized piece of fabric.
I am not but I've seen something like this before and would like to try it next year. Very cool idea!
That's brilliant ! I hate buying paper for gifts, it feels like I buy paper just to see it ripped off and destroyed and thrown away... How did I never think of a reusable fabric wrap ?!
And I'm a follower !
Love this! Thanks for the giveaway.
We've been using fabric to wrap gifts for a few years. One of my favourites is using vintage square silk scarves I picked up at a thrift store. With smaller gifts you don't even need a ribbon, just tie the four corners together and you have a wrapped gift and never have to worry about running out of tape at 4am!
i have never used reusable gift wrap but i think it is a great idea.
I have been making little Santa bags for the gifts. I am being easy about it, just pinking shears and ribbon to fancy them up.
I follow you. Thanks for a great giveaway!
I use lots of reusable gift bags.
well, kinda. I have made all the kids backpacks this year & put a few treats inside. I am planning to give them as they are.
We are slowly adding more reusable gift wrap every year. We're still recycling gift bags from many, many years before.
Really a delicious way to wrap gifts, beautiful reusable packaging. Very original. I uncovered the gifts usually careful to use the paper again, but this seems better idea.
I'm all about reusable gift wrap. Or creative gift wrap out of things around the house. Your gift wraps are so lovely!!
Great give-away! We have used reusable or recycled wrap for years now. On short notice or for big items. I have use pillow cases! Your wraps are much prettier!
I love your reusable gift wrap!
I'm already a follower!
I never even thought of this, but its a great idea. Thanks.
I have a few bags that I have made for us in the family to use, it's hard for me to use them for others... lest they won't reuse them!
Thanks for the chance!
Fabulous idea-I love it! Thanks!
I have just started to use reusable gift wrap. So far I have 2 decorative boxes I use and 1 fabric drawstring bag. Hope to buy or make more soon.
No, I'm not currently using reusable wrap BUT if I win yours, I'll certainly give it a try - but only for my extra-special peeps!!!
rivervujc@comcast.net
I don't use reusuable gift wrap because I've been reusing the same gift bags for (too many) years. This would be a change!
i generally use fabric wrap for my family (tho nothing as lovely and fancy as this) and my boys like to cut up and decorate paper bags for their gifts.
I haven't used reusable gift wrap, but it's a good idea!
I wish I used more reusable wrap! These are beautiful.
I never really considered using reusable gift wrap, but this post really got me thinking :)
Great idea! I haven't used reusable gift wrap, but now you've got me thinking about this year!
I try to use reuseable gift bags when possible.Yours are so beautiful. I would want to use them all the time
Hello! I love your blog!

lovely! i think i'd have to use it for presents that stay in the family so i could keep it ;)
I love reusable things !
And I am a new follower.
Love the idea of wrapping gifts in fabric. I found some cute kraft paper with red gingham print that I'm using this year and have already told hubby that he and the kids have to be careful when opening gifts so that I can have the paper back!
Does that count? haha

Great idea- I'm going to try to wrap some gifts in fabric too now!
I"m now following you- thanks!
That would be the first gift wrap I couldn't use to cover shoe boxes in - which is how I recycle all the wrapping
baby shoe boxes are great to store post cards, others have the perfect size to withstand the scrutiny of post officers when deciding weather they have the right measurements for international airmail - and they are so much nicer than the standard packaging ...
Anyway I would love that reusable wrapping.
ohh aye I follow - though usually through rss - easier to have a sneaky look at the posts at work
What a beautiful set! Nice job! :) I am not using reusable gift wrap for Christmas; but I LOVE the idea and have started using reusable at baby showers, birthday parties, etc throughout the year. Best, Michelle daydreambelievershop {at} gmail {dot} com
Love the idea of fabric for reusable wrapping. Lately, we have been using the reusable bags.
I've used newspaper and all sorts of other recycled papers but never thought to use fabric - great idea!
This would be soooooo awesome to win! I do use reuseable gift wrap, but it's just fabric that I tie up, it's not sewn, so not as nice as yours. Thanks for the chance!
This is a great idea! And much more elegant than my current method of 'close your eyes while I put this in your hand'!
No, not using reusable gift wrapping this year, just trying to find stuff on sale! Although, I do wrap a lot of stuff in bags, and reuse those myself for the gifts that are given to family members in the house.
I started using reusable gift bags last year. I'm not quite 100% yet, but working on it. Your bags a very pretty.
I love the idea of being more environmentally friendly, so I'd use this with for gifts with my fiance. (This way I'd get it back too to reuse again next year! LOL)
My son has me using more reusable gift wrap. Thanks for doing this.
I usually use gift bags--I've meant to make cloth wrappers for 2 years now, but time is always so short this time of year!
I usually use gift bags or newspaper cartoons. Would love some fabric bags!
I have enough wrapping paper to last for the next 5 years so when that's gone I may try reusable wrap!
I've been intending to make some gift bags, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe you can get me started!
I'm a follower!
Earlier this Christmas Season I resolved to not purchase any more gift wrap - I have enough to last a couple of years I'm sure. After it's gone, I'll be switching to reusable. There is just no sense in wasting money on paper that is just going to end up in the trash!
I always try to use reusable gift wrap. I make drawstring bags that I put the gifts in
violet_bg1(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk
I love the idea and the designs. :)
I am not using reusable gift wrap but I love that you are!! I bet your gifts are going to look beautiful!!!
I am a follower of your blog!
I have never heard of reusable wrapping paper. However, if I had some, I would definitely use it!
I try to reuse gift wrap like bags and boxes, but I don't use reusable gift wrap. Thanks for the giveaway! robyn(dot)geddes(at)gmail(dot)com
love these! I have some reusable xmas bags I made last year. thanks!
I try to reuse gift bags and wrapping paper. Love your idea.
Recycling, repurposing, reusing...is my life! Love it!
I don't use recyclable wrapping, per se, but I do reuse all my gift bags and tissue paper... My boyfriend calls me a grandma but I hate buying things that I don't need to!
I've never used fabric for gifts before, but I do use my 4 yr old daughter's artwork!
Thanks for the chance to win! I've never used cloth gift wrap before, but I would love to. I HAVE decided never to buy paper gift wrap again. This year, I'm fancying up some newspapers with colorful stamps. But cloth would be even better as it can be reused.
I've never thought about using cloth wrap before and so I will now!
I recycle papers from books and other sources.
I love fabric gift bags, and I always need new ones! Thanks for offering these
deckerston(at)aol(com)
This is a great thing to do. I'm a brown (kraft) paper wrapper upper and use twine or wool (yarn) and this year I've made pom poms. Thank you.
I have made/sewn gift bags in the past and have also used brown paper bags and 'glittered' them up. Thank you for the give away. KatheGTN at aol dot com
I usually try to make the gift container reusable...like a basket or organizing tub with some pretty ribbon.
Love the idea! I may try to use some re-usable gift wrap this year -- as well as handmade gift wrap.
I would love reusable gift wrap! The best I do as of now is wrap in old newspapers.
Ambersewwonky (at) yahoo (dot) com
I admit I have never used reusable gift wrap. I do reuse gift bags, but I'm seeing it's now time to try something new :)
Love it. I have done this before by using new dish towels or baby receiving blankets to wrap the shower gift.
A few years ago I had a big session and made a massive pile of fabric bags in different sizes so I rarely use paper for Christmas gifts anymore.
I don't use reusable gift wrap unless you count...reusing gift bags that we receive.
sntbosch@msn.com
i am having trouble leaving messages.... i've wrapped presents in large rectangles of fabric, using safety pins since tape doesnt work..
That is a great idea! We don't use re-usable wrap, but we do use our leftover wrapping as firestarter, does that count? Thanks for the giveaway, those are really lovely fabrics and a great idea.
I haven't switched over to fabric, but that was my plan this year!
Wow, that is such a great idea! Clever thinking!
i love to make pillowcases for gifts or tote bags! thanks for the great giveaway.
I am a follower too. thanks again.
What a great idea! Fabric for wrapping gifts!
How pretty, I will be reusing some fabric for gift wrap!
I've never used fabric gift wraps, but it's a fantastic idea. I've tried to go green in so many other ways this year, I might try some of this for Christmas as well. Yours are gorgeous.
New follower too! I can't believe all the fantastic sites I'm finding through this giveaway day (which I'd never heard of until a couple weeks ago when I found SMS).
I haven't used fabric reusable gift wrap, but my husband and I gift wrap in newspaper and then recycle it when we are done using it. The newspaper ads come in the mail regardless of whether we want them to or not, so it is a way to 'reuse' them and to not buy unnecessary wrapping paper.
I am a new follower of your blog!
Great idea! We reuse the same boxes, bags and bows year after year until they are falling apart! lol
These are lovely!
You know, I guess what we do counts as reusable gift wrapping...I have covered some boxes with paper wrap and ribbon that we have now used for 7 or 8 years running. We also tend to save the paper, in big enough pieces and use it again. There is one piece of wrapping paper that keeps being used to wrap the same box year after year..and whoever opens it just knows to be extra careful!
I use reusable gift wrap, both fabric and decorated boxes. I love taking it out every year and remembering what I used it for last time...
I love using reusable materials and handmade materials in my wrapping. AND its important to me that my important look more beautiful than standard wrapping. Looking at them and imagining the goodness inside is half the fun!
I haven't used reuseable wrapping paper, but I do reuse gift bags and reuse the paper wrapping paper unless it's ripped. Thanks for a chance to win your beautiful wrapping materials! :)
I'm already a follower of your blog! :)
My daughter and I have decided to wrap our gifts in newspaper and ribbon this year. So far, they look pretty good, but my husband thinks it's weird. He'll be using the gift bags we've saved from previous years, I suppose.
I am a follower ;)
Yes - I was so excited to see the this because I started making draw string bags a few years ago to use as gift wrap. I found it especially useful when travelling for the holidays because you don't have to worry about airport security unwrapping anything.
we use kids art work, newspaper, and re-use gift bags. I have made some fabric bags, and give those to people that I know will appreciate them and re-use them.
I am a new follower, and I will look for you on face book.
Never used it, but a great idea!! Lilsis_75@Hotmail.com
I've made a few gift bags, and have a goal to give as many presents in them as possible this year (Christmas and otherwise). The gift bag is part of the gift in the hopes the receiver will re-use it and keep it going.
Last year I actually purchased vintage gift wrap from the 70's and used that... i had a hard time cutting it up but it was worth it!!
xo Steph
Awesome idea for gift wrapping. We are using maps from my hubby's work to wrap. Thanks so much!
Following on Pinterest!
I have used reusable gift wrap in the past. I need to do this more often.
I made reusable bags for wrapping last year, but I don't think I have time this year (I haven't finished all of my presents!). I do reuse gift bags I receive, though! :)
lovely i love it.
imisswaylon@Hotmail.com
I use reusable gift wrapping in the paper form, but I just might try reusing fabric to wrap gifts. I love the look you created with these! What a lovely giveaway :)
I am a follower, too!
My son has come home from school with some lovely vibrant paintings. I always reuse them to wrap gifts for family and friends. His grandparents love recieving gifts wrapped in his artwork. Thank you
I ave not thought to o this. Makes for a pretty Christmas morning! Amy @ gasudimack@sbcglobal.net
Lovely gift wrap. I've been reusing gift bags that we kept "nice" for several years but I love your idea even more and will make a change next year and use lovely fabrics as well. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to be using some of your lovelies next year.
rosebudscott(at)Yahoo(DOT)com
What a great idea! I would love to enter your giveaway, thank you for the chance.
I will be using some reusable bags. I usually try to at least make a few new ones every year but not sure if I will get a chance this year.
I am using some reusable wrap like cloth bags and like to give some away as gifts.

Beautiful ideas
Love the fabric!
Having just attempted to wrap gifts using existing supplies (we stopped buying new wrapping materials a year or two ago), I would definitely appreciate your reusable gift wrap set. Thanks!
kristie_keely(at)yahoo(d0t)com
At the moment I'm not using reusable gift wrap as I still have plenty from BEFORE this trend started! But I'll recycle it... ;-)
I follow your blog
I'm trying to make enough drawstring bags this year to act as my "wrapping". I've got a bit of Christmas giftwrap left over from previous years though if I end up a bit short!
Every year I try to make gift bags . I love the idea of wrapping paper.
Very clever and looks great! I am guilty of using paper wrapping, but try to reuse and buy recycled when possible!
I've always followed my mum's example and recycled paper gift wrap, but re-using is a step better than recycling, so I'm inspired!
And I'm a new follower!
No I never used this kind of wraps, but I already saw a lot of ides to do with. Should be great to receive a package in such a wrap!!!!
What lovely gift wraps! I usually end up using gift bags other people have given us but aspire to plan ahead enough to use more eco-friendly and lovely packaging like you!
I just started following you! Yay!
I've used reusable gift wrap for a long time, ie: bags, paper, ribbon, etc... I only last year started using fabric bags and this year I found a site that shows japanese fabric folding for giftwrap. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I have been using reusable wrap for a couple of years now, mainly since I started sewing a ton, I found it quicker and easier than paper wrapping! Thanks for a great giveaway!
I am an excited follower! thanks
Ooh...I can honestly say I've never thought of using fabric. What a wonderful and simple idea. I'll have to try it....another time, unless I win the giveaway. :)
I saw a tutorial for reusable gift wrap in a magazin a few days ago and thought "what a great idea, I will make some for feather too". Your's look realy nice and inspires me. Thank you for this great idea!
I'm glad Toby told me to look at your blog today. I have now officially followed you. :)
Last year I made pillow cases to use as gift wrapping. I also reuse all my gift bags. I hardly ever have to buy wrapping paper or bags.
Your fabric bags are lovely. Thanks.

I use some reusable gift wrap - some fabric, some sturdy paper bags. And I have received some gifts in knitted bags, which we reuse as well.

I'm so with you on fabric gift wrap! It used to make me uneasy to see all that wasted paper on x-mas morning and now with our little kid, it's magnified x 10.
I started by making 5 bags per person last year and it made gift wrapping so much easier, especially the weird shaped things like stocking stuffers. We do still wrap a few things though -- my dd is 5 so sanctioned ripping is most of the fun -- but we're hooked now and never want to go back to that huge pile of garbage. I feel so free!
I love to wrap up gifts for DIY friends into a piece of fabric so they can use the fabric afterwards.
Our family has been using some fabric bags for gift giving since I was a kid, and I want to get back to that. I have the fabric and the ribbon, now I just need to time to sew the bags. I also plan to just quickly finish the edges of some large pieces of fabric (think 2 yards) to "wrap" those larger gifts - just gather at the top and tie with ribbon. Thanks@
ive never done reuseable gift wrap before but i just got a gift that was wrapped in fabric and i thought it was awesome..now i have a scrap of fabric that i can use in any project and ill always remember who gave it to me :) raineoc@yahoo.com

Thanks for the giveaway!

Not this year, unfortunately, but the last two I did! And I do like it very much!
I do use reusable gift bags I made and would love these to add to them. Thanks!
I'm not presently using reusable gift wrap, but I do wrap a lot of larger presents in fabric and smaller gifts in scraps. Thanks for the nice giveaway, and Happy Holidays!
Oh yes, whenevee poss. I always try to reuse and be green!!
How lovely!
Thanks for the chance.
