I finished up a birthday bunting this week for Joshua's upcoming birthday. While he was pleased with the look of it, I think he's a little concerned that I've only finished one angry bird. I'm pretty sure he thought my efforts would have been better spent on that rather than this bunting.
I encouraged him not to fear. The angry birds will indeed get done in time. We still have a few weeks. Surely it won't be a problem.
I'm really happy with how this one turned out, although, next time I think I would applique the letters on. I zigzagged them on with the sewing machine. That was not easy. (You might notice the slightly crooked H. I call it character.) I'm just happy to have a banner that I can use over and over. I plan on making a girl birthday bunting in about 6 months when that birthday rolls around.
Did you create anything fun this week?
Linking up with Jennifer @ Studio JRU for Sneak Peek Friday.

I would never have noticed the *slightly* crooked H! It's a good-looking bunting and will be a fun part of his birthday tradition!!
Yes! Your bunting is beautiful! And I have no doubt that the angry birds will be done in time :-)
My little girl had a birthday this week and her party is tomorrow. She wanted a "rainbow" theme so I made a rainbow "Happy Birthday" bunting from cardstock and sewed cardstock flower shapes (made with a shape punch) together to make garlands that are hanging from the ceiling. I also just finished baking a 6-layer rainbow cake :-) I wish I could post all of this on my blog but unfortunately our internet here isn't letting me access Wordpress. Which is why I haven't posted in 3 weeks. Hope to get the problem fixed soon...
That's one lucky guy you have there, for he has a Mom that goes all out to celebrate. Love the bunting and the angry bird.
It loks great! :-)
I love your bunting! I've been in bunting mode myself lately. I'm working on a set of holiday buntings; Christmas, Valentine's day, St. Patrick's day, Flag day/4th of July, and still to be completed New Year's Eve and Halloween. I did a birthday bunting a while back. I'm tempted to do another to use your idea of pieced letters.
This photo is pure tenderness and delicious.
Great job on the birthday bunting! I didn't even notice the H being crooked. I can see where he would be concerned about the angry birds though. I kind of like those angry birds, too!
I love the expression of your young man. My boys detest being in photos. This is such a great idea. I am wondering if I could whip up a gender neutral one for all the birthdays around here?! I know it will take effort to get one done, much less two! Enjoy seeing what is going on "in your studio!"
LOL... I am sure the birds will be done! Such a cute picture of his concern! :) The banner is fantastic. A great idea that you can use each year now!
That is adorable!! :) How fun!

Cute picture of your youngster all wrapped up, love the bunting...
happy birthday to your son!!
What a good idea to make a banner that you can use over and over again! So pretty...I have been itching to make a bunting too, but have so many other unfinished projects I need to finish first! Hmmm, I wonder if I could make one from paper instead of fabric so I don't have to sew...
It looks great, and I didn't even notice a crooked letter at all! I love his face in that picture! :)
P.S. I was in your area at the beginning of the week, but I was on a mission trip with our students. I thought of you, though! I'll be back next month & hope to make some plans to meet up!!
I love your bunting!!! And the crooked H does lend character :)
Ah Jen...your bunting is great...and I never would have noticed the character "H"...lol
We are so tough on ourselves...I do the exact same thing...point out all the mistakes when hubby tries to give me complitments ;}
Have a great week {hugs} Roberta
