in the studio :: how do i want to be remembered?12:00 AM
Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! You've come to this space expecting to see what has come out of my studio this week and prepared to show me what's come out of yours. Well, as I sit here at 10:00 on Thursday night, I feel like I got nothing. My energy has been spent single parenting it this week while the hubs is away. It's been spent on wondering if the strong winds are going to spread that fire in the distance to our property. It's been spent on hoping and praying that people near the fire are ok. It's been spent on praying for rain in this very dry season, especially since our water source is once again dried up. I feel like I got nothing, and yet...
I've spent the week teaching on Identity in Christ in our discipleship school, and THIS has given me life. I love teaching on topics I'm passionate about. In the midst of the busyness that has filled my days, I have found that I rather enjoy the "studio" of the classroom. It's not work. It's LIFE to me. I couldn't have said that 10 years ago, but you see, 10 years ago, I was still discovering who God made me to be and the things He has put inside of me. The journey isn't over. I'm still discovering, and it's fantastic.
Today I gave the students a writing prompt (taken from a Transformational Leadership Coaching worksheet) to write how they want to remembered when they die. If they were listening to their eulogy, what would they want it to say? This is how I want to be remembered...
As a loving wife and mom and that my family always felt that I had time for them even in the busiest of seasons.
As someone who valued relationships and friendships and always offered a smile and a sincere "How are you doing?"
As someone who found joy in life.
As someone who made an impact by being the light of Jesus.
As someone who did things with excellence.
As someone who walked in humility.
As someone who wasn't perfect but who was real.
As someone who encouraged people to tap into their creative sides, who encouraged people to dream, and who encouraged people to go to the depths with Jesus.
As a mom who instilled values in her kids that prepared them for life.
