Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! We're five days from Christmas, y'all. Five. Are you prepared? I think I am. Christmas gifts are purchased and wrapped. I just need to do a bit more baking and house cleaning. I'm really looking forward to being able to enjoy these few days before Christmas. Today is my last official day of "work" for the year, so bring on the fun!
The kids and I started the fun last night by making some handmade ornaments! I have Christmas decorations in three different places on two different continents. It's ridiculous, really, but that's the truth. Our tree this year had only one precious handmade that Emma Grace made at a church function. It needed more!
It all started when I got down the pipe cleaners for the kids to keep themselves entertained while I ran to pick up a package. When I got back, Joshua had done a fantastic job making baby Jesus in the manger! Doesn't it look awesome?
We continued the fun by making some wreath ornaments. A little round styrofoam (or 2 halves put together as that's all I could find here) and some yarn, embellishments optional, and you've got such an easy craft! Pair that with apple peanut butter sandwiches made by the youngest of the family and an assortment of home baked cookies, and you have utter bliss.
I chose blue and off-white with a red button. Emma Grace chose green and red with two red buttons, and Joshua went simple with yellow and brown. I'm so happy to have at least a few handmades on there!
Have you made any handmade ornaments for the Christmas tree this year? Do share, and link up while you're at it!
Now it's your turn! Remember your "studio" can be anywhere. Let's celebrate each other's creativity by linking up and visiting as many as the other studios as you can. Check out the about post for more info and don't forget to grab the In The Studio button!
Just a note: This is the last In The Studio for the year! Enjoy the holidays with your loved ones, and we'll see you back here on January 10th! I can't wait to see what you're making in the New Year! Happy holidays, friends!
