in the studio :: st. patrick's day bunting

12:00 AM

Welcome to In The Studio, a place to show off your studio and meet some great artists! Hope you've had a great week. We've continued to swim in lots of RAIN this week which has made everything a nice shade of green for our garden party tonight!

Well, I always love a good holiday bunting, and although we don't usually do a whole lot for St. Patrick's Day, it was a good excuse to change from Valentine's hearts to lucky clovers. These were super easy to bend into place while multitasking. A little show to keep me entertained and a little creativity to bring a smile to my soul were the perfect pair after a long day.

I followed Crafts Unleashed simple instructions to make shamrocks in a rainbow of colors to then hang on string to make a bunting. I really should have gotten the kids involved in making these, but sometimes Mama needs some quiet creativity. Know what I mean?

Have you done any fun St. Patrick's Day crafts? Do you usually celebrate this holiday? Check out my Today's Mama St. Patrick's Day craft roundup as well as a list of healthy GREEN foods for some St. Patrick's Day inspiration! Tweeting and/or pinning are totally welcome (insert shameless plug) as I get paid per page impression. :)

Now it's your turn! Remember your "studio" can be anywhere. Let's celebrate each other's creativity by linking up and visiting as many as the other studios as you can. Check out the about post for more info and don't forget to grab the In The Studio button!

  1. I would totally link up but don't have any posts of any "creative" anything I've done. Boo! :( But the shamrock are cute! And I don't normally do anything for St. Patties.

  2. Hi Jen!
We don't usually do much for St. Patrick's Day, but I do usually decorate the mantel or the table in the entry. It's a little bit of whimsy in the midst of the hopefully 'thawing snow waiting for spring to arrive grayness.' I LOVE creating with book pages and so this year they were the basis for my St. Paddy's Day mantel. I'm anxious to pop over to your link to see your ideas. I love the little shamrock banner. So cute!!

    Hope your weekend is extraordinary!!

  3. Your little chenille stick shamrocks are so cute. They'd make a great classroom project in Public schools or as part of a Sunday School lesson on St. Patrick. Blessings!

  4. What a cute idea - and I just bought some pipe cleaners! Thanks for sharing this idea!

  5. What a cute and colorful bunting! Great idea!

  6. well, we don't actually celebrate it either... but I love the simplicity of how you chose to do so! and I so agree with the 'alone with me-time to create' ---- well done!

  7. That is a very cute bunting! I think your way of celebrating is better than the way my university did, with green-painted streets, green beer, and smashing snakes with shillelaghs...
