Brave Enough

It took me a long time to get through this book but not because I didn't like it. Rather, it was because I was savoring it. The words on these pages aren't for a quick read. They're words that you need to ponder, absorb, and let settle into the deep recesses of your heart.

We all want to be brave men and women. I love how the author emphasizes that, because of God's grace, we already have the tools we need to be brave. We just have to utilize them.

The section of the book that impacted me the most was when she talked about grace. "Honesty about our failure is the key to courage." Isn't that the truth? Giving ourselves grace when we've messed up is one of the most courageous things we could do, and giving ourselves grace is saying that we can't fix it on our own. We need God's help in our lives. What a great place to be!

This book is one of those that would be excellent as a study book. The end of each chapter presents the readers with their daily brave challenge. It's the opportunity to go deeper with what we've just been presented with.

If you're looking for a book to help you go deeper in your walk with God, then I definitely recommend this book. It will challenge you to be a person that walks through life bravely. We all want to be brave, right?

Disclosure: I received this book for free from Tyndale House in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

  1. I have to be honest about my failures approximately every two weeks when I go to confess my sins to a priest. This has helped me become much more transparent, free, and yes, brave, in all areas of my life. God is so good!!!
